Reflection for my school magazine

 

I am quite happy with how my school magazine turned out however I think there are some areas I could improve and will try to improve in my next magazine.

I am happy with the camera shot that I used in the front cover of the magazine. I think the low angled shot was really effective at displaying  the front of the school and that with the school in a high position because of the low angle of the shot it makes the school seem important. I also think the lighting works very well because the sun is on the one side of the school shining onto the wall.

I also like the layout on the contents page of the magazine. The mix of the pictures and the white boxes around the articles help them stand out. This is good for the readers so they can tell what the articles are and if they would be interested in reading them.

I think I could’ve improved the overall design of the front cover of the magazine. Think the design is quite basic and ordinary. These things do not make a magazine stand out and could reduce the amount of people that actually buy the magazine. This could be improved by being more creative with the shapes used and making everything look less blocky.

Another thing that could be improved in this magazine is the range of pictures used. I am happy with the front cover however next time I would choose to do pictures both landscape and portrait so it can take up more of the front of the magazine and I can incorporate designs into it. Both of the pictures on the contents page look very similar with Alex in both of them with a book used. Next time I would try to use more students or even a group of them.
